Product Description
Rapid immunochromatographic test detecting Babesia gibsoni antibodies in whole blood, serum, or plasma. Aids diagnosis of canine babesiosis caused by Babesia gibsoni, a tick-borne blood parasite that destroys red blood cells, causing anemia, weakness, jaundice, fever, and dark urine. B. gibsoni infections are typically harder to treat than other Babesia species, and dogs often remain infected with recurring episodes even after apparent clinical recovery. Results in 5–10 minutes with no equipment required. Sensitivity 92.13% and specificity 94.59% versus PCR. Shelf life 24 months. Note: prior infection may cause false positives; early-stage infection (insufficient antibody response) may cause false negatives.
