Product Description
Rapid immunochromatographic test for detecting canine distemper virus (CDV) antigen from ocular or nasal discharge. Aids diagnosis of CDV, a highly contagious viral disease of young and unvaccinated dogs affecting the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems — historically known as "hard pad disease" due to footpad/nose hyperkeratosis in chronic cases; severe infections can be fatal. Results in 5–10 minutes with no equipment required. Sensitivity 100% and specificity 98.08% versus RT-PCR. Shelf life 24 months. Note: recent vaccination may cause false positives; very early-stage infection may cause false negatives.
