Product Description
Rapid immunochromatographic test detecting Dirofilaria immitis (canine heartworm) antigen in whole blood, serum, or plasma. Aids diagnosis of canine heartworm disease, a mosquito-transmitted condition where adult worms parasitize the heart and pulmonary artery, causing circulatory obstruction, exercise intolerance, and — in severe cases — heart failure or death. Results in 5–10 minutes with no equipment required. Sensitivity 99.03% and specificity 100% versus necropsy. Shelf life 24 months. Note: false negatives can occur with low worm burden, immature infections, or male-only infections — a negative result does not rule out heartworm infection.
