Product Description
Rapid immunochromatographic test detecting Salmonella spp. antigen in reptile and avian feces. Salmonella commonly infects birds — especially chicks under three weeks old — causing indigestion, foul-smelling droppings, poor growth, weight loss, joint inflammation, and lameness, with increased mortality in young chicks; adult birds are often asymptomatic but may show reduced egg production. Reptiles frequently carry Salmonella in their digestive tracts, including apparently healthy animals, with snakes at higher risk than lizards or crocodilians. Results in 5–10 minutes with no equipment required. Sensitivity 95.05% and specificity 99.00% versus PCR. Shelf life 24 months.
